With the current Coronavirus involving state and national lockdowns, we would like to reassure our patients that we are doing everything possible to continue to provide essential medical services to our patients. All health agencies are strongly recommending maintaining your important health care and doctor consultations.
Remember that every other acute illness or chronic disease and other health problems have not suddenly disappeared. We have created new policies, processes and safe spaces in our surgery so that people are able to consult their doctors without the fear of contracting infections.
Review of practice policy during the Coronavirus pandemic All Coronavirus related concerns will be managed through Telehealth consultations to minimise infection spread and to ensure safety of our patients and staff.
All patients with respiratory illness symptoms will be phone triaged by a doctor or nurse first and if examination is necessary, the doctor will make special arrangements for this.
We will continue to manage all other medical conditions as usual as it is important that chronic diseases are managed well and immunisations are up to date to reduce the risk of complications during a pandemic. Normal consultations such as immunisations, management of chronic disease, cervical screening tests and skin checks will continue as usual.
Flu shots are now available from the surgery and we recommend our patients get a flu vaccination by the end of May 2020 to reduce influenza risk, which would severely complicate any Covid-19 infection.
Patients over the age of 65 years old, children 5 years old and under and people with chronic diseases are eligible for a free flu vaccination given in the surgery. Private flu shots are also available.
If you would like to consult our doctors at the practice or via Telehealth book online or call our reception staff.
